Sewn In Portland

I chose Portland to be my home for multiple reasons, the proximity to world-class outdoor sports, the funky, caring, and enthusiastic people, friends and family, but most of all the PNW. I love the scale of nature here, the colors and textures, the massive pines, lonely peaks, countless waterfalls, endless forests, and yes even the rain.

I am in love with the outdoors and all it can offer, but if we are not actively protecting and advocating for nature, it might not be around for other generations to enjoy. Now more than ever it is important to do everything we can to ensure the longevity of our planet.

Sustainablity

I believe that the soft goods and outdoor industries have not done enough to help reduce their footprints. Traditionally, soft goods are produced overseas using questionable manufacturing practices and producing a lot of emissions and pollution. By the time we buy a soft goods item, 80% of its total carbon emissions come from shipping alone. I want to localize manufacturing and create a system that uses 100% recycled content. I also want to be an example for consumers, committing to reducing my carbon footprint and being completely transparent with my process, all while enjoying time outdoors with my firends.

Hand Made

I hand-sew every bag I sell. My bags are made with love and care to ensure that you have the best gear possible. On this small scale, I pay more attention to details and I can guarantee the build quality at every step.

Materials

When it comes to selecting materials for Beans Outdoor products, there are several things we look for: durability, technical performance, and environmental impact. By carefully evaluating these aspects and choosing materials that strike a balance between them, Beans Outdoor can ensure the functionality and longevity of our products. We take pride in using brands that align with our ethos.
